Day 5 (part 2/2): Abingdon – Oxford

For the last 15 km of our long 42-km day we walked along the Thames path: a well preserved area with the idyllic views of small boats moored on the banks of the river and groups of young people rowing.

On entering the city, we were met by a large group of people with banners and flags. We marched down a main road with the group, slowing traffic and waving our flags, until we reached the place we’d be having dinner.

See an inteview with Nicky during that moment:

It was a community meal, we distributed ourselves over the different tables and attempted to tell the tale of our march in English, using gestures, or in any way we could! Finally, after a very long day we were taken back to our respective hosts’ houses to rest for the following day.
